تو داستان اژدها مگه کل پاراگراف نشده گذشته بعید پس چرا در مورد فعل attackedاین اتفاق نیفتاده؟ یعنی نشدهhad+حالت سوم attack!

پاراگراف اول گذشته ساده است.
The hermit told the knight about the awful things that were happening there.
این جمله میگه که همزمان که تعریف میکنه یه اتفاقاتی تو روستاداره میفته گذشته استمراری
A terrible dragon had come to live in the lake and attacked the village every day.
یه اژدها اومده به اونجا (قبل از زمان تعریف کردن داستان یا قبل از زمان گذشته ساده )و حمله میکنه این اتفاق قبل از اتفاق هایی که داره میفته پس ماضی بعید است
The villagers didn’t know what to do. First, they gave the dragon all their food, but the dragon just took the food and still attacked the village.
بقیه داستان گذشته ساده است و با زمان تعریف کردن اون روستایی( هرمیت) توی یک زمان است.
So then the villagers gave the dragon all the animals from their farms. The dragon took all the animals, but continued to attack the villagers.
So then they gave the dragon all their gold and jewels. The dragon took all their money, but still was not satisfied.
The king sent his army to try and capture the dragon, but the dragon was too strong and the knights of the army were too scared and they ran away.
With nothing left to give, the king could only think of one thing to help protect his people. He sent his only daughter, the princess, to the lake to wait for the dragon.
گذشته ساده
When George heard this he rode as fast as he could to the lake. Just then the dragon jumped
و این جمله. گذشته ساده است
out from the lake and was going to eat the princess.
و اینجا هم آینده در گذشته است. چون اژدها میخواهد دختره رو بخوره
George attacked the dragon. He fought very bravely, won the fight and killed the dragon
اگه منظورتون این attack هست که داستان حول گذشته ساده است و در گذشته اتفاق افتاده. فقط اومدن اژدها قبل از این اتفاقات هست.
در کل چهارتا (بخش)زمان هست توی هر زمان (گذشته.حال. آینده)
مثلا تو گذشته که این داستان اینجوریه
Ali had been at home
علی تو خونه بوده
جمله بالا گذشته کامل هست چون قبل اتفاقات پایین رخ داده.
Ali was outdoor
علی بیرون بود
اینم ساده هست
Ali was coming to me when I repaired my car
علی اومد پیشم وقتیکه من ماشینم رو تعمیر میکردم
این جمله هم نشونگر گذشته استمراریه دو اتفاق در یک زمان.
Ali was going to help me
OR : Ali would help me
علی میخواست کمکم کنه.
و اینم نشون دهنده آینده در گذشته هست چون کمی جلوتر از اتفاقات قبل هست.
در کل اگه گذشته ساده و استمراری رو مبدا در نظر بگیریم
گذشته کامل قبل تر از گذشته ساده و استمراریه و
آینده در گذشته جلوتر از گذشته ساده و استمراریه.
و چند تا زمان دیگه هم هست که …
