The sentence “Did you give him a nose?” is grammatically correct, but it is ambiguous. It could mean two different things:

Did you give him a nose as a gift? This would be the more literal interpretation of the sentence. It would suggest that the speaker gave the person a nose, perhaps as a joke or a prank.
Did you put a nose on him? This would be a more figurative interpretation of the sentence. It would suggest that the speaker made the person look like they had a nose, perhaps by drawing one on their face or by putting a prosthetic nose on them.
The verb “give” is used to transfer something from one person to another. The verb “put” is used to place something somewhere. In the sentence “Did you give him a nose?”, the verb “give” is ambiguous because it is not clear what is being transferred. Is the speaker transferring a physical nose, or are they transferring the appearance of a nose?

The context of the sentence can help to clarify the meaning. If the sentence is being asked in a literal sense, then the speaker is probably asking if the person received a physical nose as a gift. If the sentence is being asked in a figurative sense, then the speaker is probably asking if the person was made to look like they had a nose.

In general, it is best to avoid using the verb “give” in a sentence where the meaning is ambiguous. If you are not sure which verb to use, it is always better to use “put”. This will ensure that your meaning is clear.
