When used as nouns , catch means the act of seizing or capturing, whereas get means offspring.
When used as verbs , catch means to capture or snare (someone or something which would rather escape), whereas get means to obtain.
Capture :
to take someone as a prisoner, or to take something into your possession, especially by force:
Two of the soldiers were killed and the rest were
captured.
Rebel forces captured the city after a week-long
battle.
to succeed in getting something when you are competing with other people:
The Democratic Party candidate captured 70 percent of the vote.
