FORMULA =If + Subject + past perfect
Subject + would have + past participale form of the verb
We use the third conditional to talk about Imaginary Event in the past that didn’t happen.
If i hadn’t sprained My ankle, I would have finished the Race.
(I sprained My ankle, So i didn’t Finish the Race.)
If she had burned her hand, It would have hurt.
(She didn’t Burn her hand, So It didn’t hurt.)
He wouldn’t have gotten a graze if he hadn’t fallen over.
(He fell over, So he got a graze.)
